Nietzche said Without Music,Life would be a mistake. I feel that way about dance.

To me Bharatanatyam is neither a religious art nor should it be relegated to the corner of cultural heritage or ethnic or oriental representative art form. Through all my engagements, I wish to present Bharatanatyam as an art-dance accessible to everyone, to learn and to appreciate. I endeavour to present it as an art form of the present - that stands as a product shaped by its cultural and ethnic history, but yet absolutely not limited by it.

Co-founded with Austin based Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher Sumathi Vikram, RootEd Foundation is an organisation that focuses on two key areas - Audience Development and Artist Development.
