The Hymn of Creation

Verses from the Rig Veda which seek the origin of existence. It is conceptually extremely provocative, meant to puzzle and challenge, to raise unanswerable questions and to pile up paradoxes.

Poems of Love and War

Poems from the 2000 year old Tamil Sangam literature speak of love and war. They speak of stories that, while being set in the cultural milieu of the Dravidians, are not bound by culture or language, time or space.

Dance Videos

Exploring dance that can be created specifically for the camera and the digital space has been a pursuit and exploration since the pandemic of Covid-19 hit the global community.

Traditional Repertoire

The movement vocabulary of Bharatanatyam is traditional, scientific and inherently gender neutral. The grammar of the form houses great clarity allowing for expansion and freedom, which can take flight from its foundation.

Veda-Bharathi

Does god exist? Can Bharatanatyam, recognised usually as a religious art form, dare to ask this question?

Abhinaya

Abhinaya, is the craft of mimetic, gestural and movement based communication through Indian dance. Having undergone spcial training in Abhinaya under pioneer Smt Kalanidhi Narayanan, and Smt Priyadarsini Govind, this is an area that underlines my identity and exploration as a dancer.

Duet in Bharatanatyam

The collaboration on 'Krishna Karnamrutam' with Shweta Prachande grew as a natural extension of a shared artistic descent and approach. In the scenario where female-female Bharatanatyam duets are rare, we set out to create a fresh and in-depth exploration of the dynamics involved in duet performance while exploiting our individual strengths as soloists.

Collaborative Work

Work on cross style choreographies, alongside artists of Kathak and Odissi, has been a space to negotiate with, and refine my understanding, of the grammar and identity of Bharatanatyam as a dance form.
